The Problem

Lynn, a resident of a Portland apartment complex, hired us to remove all the furniture from her home for a flooring renovation, but the situation got more complicated soon after.

  • A month after the job an ice storm hit which caused pipes to burst in the apartment building
  • The community hired us to help move property from flooded apartments and help residents move into hotels
  • For Lynn, we had moved her 3 times in a span of four months and she was frustrated and sad her belongings had been damaged during the storm

The Take Care Move Assistance Difference

The Process

The first time we visited Lynn, she spent the entire job carefully watching our team from a dark laundry room. Trust isn’t something that can be built immediately, but our NASSM certified moving crew is understanding and patient with older adult movers.

We explained everything we planned to do with her property, including how we would move her items safely. Whenever she had questions or comments we listened to her and respected her wishes above all else.

The Solution

After the issue with the water damage was solved, we helped multiple residents, including Lynn, move back into their renovated apartments. The whole process took around 4 months.

While Lynn was wary of us the first time we helped her, by the third time, we had gained her trust and her recommendation. She told other residents in the community about the great job we did each and every time we moved her property.
